What Is a Relative Pronoun in Russian, and How Does It Work?

Relative pronouns (adverbs) look and sound like interrogative pronouns (adverbs). The difference is that relative pronouns are used to connect clauses or phrases together and refer back to a noun or pronoun in the previous clause. They are often translated to English as “who,” “whom,” “whose,” “which,” or “that.”

Let’s take a look at the most common relative pronouns in Russian.
